FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is this event appropriate for a student who is on the Science Olympiad team and already has strong science knowledge, or is it better suited for younger kids?
A: SparkFest is designed for students in grades 4-8 of all experience levels. Our sessions cover a wide range of topics beyond traditional science curriculum, including business, music, and the arts. Even students with strong science backgrounds will find plenty of new and engaging material to explore outside their usual events.

Q: What does my child need to bring on the day of the event?
A: Students should bring a water bottle and any necessary personal items. We'd also recommend a notebook and pencil to take notes if they'd like! All workshop materials will be provided. If your child has food allergies or dietary restrictions, please send them with a personal lunch as an alternative to the provided pizza lunch.

Q: How are students placed into sessions?
A: We use a lottery system based on each student's ranked preferences. Priority registration gives students an advantage in this lottery, increasing their chances of being placed in their top choices. We do our best to accommodate everyone's preferences while working within space constraints.

Q: My child has a friend they'd like to be in a session with. Can we request this?
A: Yes! Please indicate any friend requests in the notes section of the registration form, and we will do our best to accommodate them in the same sessions.

Q: Will there be adult supervision throughout the day?
A: Absolutely. While our sessions are taught by high school mentors, all activities are supervised by certified CVHS staff.

Q: Who do I contact with additional questions?
A: Please email us at cvsparklab@gmail.com, and a member of our team will get back to you promptly.
